How to set up a JIRA integration

Create an integration between your BigAgile and Jira instances to sync your task management data.

Step 1: Navigate to Admin view and select the Integrations tab. Click on the plus (+) icon in the top right to create a connector.

Step 2: Insert an Integration name of your choice, select JIRA in the 'Type' drop-down, and insert your Jira URL (typically in the format [https://projectname.atlassian.net]. If you chose to create a personal access token, you can obtain one by following these steps. Once you have the access token, paste it in the Access Token field in Big Agile.

Step 3: After the credentials input is complete, please select the Save & close button.

BigAgile will try to connect to the specified JIRA URL using the provided credentials. A new integrations record is added if the connection is successful. If the connection is unavailable, an error message with troubleshooting instructions will appear.

Step 4: Create Teams

  1. Expand the Connector by selecting the down arrow on the left hand-side.

  2. Click on the Add button (+) in the top right hand-side.

  3. Insert team name and a description.

  4. Choose a JIRA board from the dropdown list (this is a list of all boards you have in the Jira instance you specified). If the team is not tracked in JIRA, you can leave this blank (e.g. external teams).

  5. Click on Save button (tick).
