BigAgile's delivery dashboards offer insights into remaining and current progress, as well as valuable metrics such as predictability, which help your planning activities.

This guide explains the Single PI dashboard, which is an overview of delivery progress for one PI.

You can choose which Programme and PI you want to view the dashboard for using the selectors highlighted below. The team selector allows you to view the dashboard for any number of teams you like, and the initiative selector offers the ability to see metrics for a specific initiative.

Top Level Metrics

Let's look at the various elements of the Single PI Dashboard.

  • The Features section shows the number of features in progress and done.

  • The Dependencies section shows the number of inbound and outbound dependencies in progress and done.

  • The Stories section shows how many stories are in the PI for the selected Team(s) and the total number of story points associated with these stories.

The Teams section shows how many teams are in the chosen PI and the average number of story points per team.

Feature & Story Progression charts

The delivery dashboard also displays simple and easy-to-read charts showing Feature Progression and Story Progression.

  • The feature progression chart shows the total number of features in the selected PI. We can see in this example that there are 41 total features.

  • The colours also represent stages of progress, amber is "To Do", Orange is "In Progress", Blue is "Done", and "Deferred" is Grey.

  • It's important to note that features will be flagged as Deferred if they meet the following criteria:

If a feature was initially planned in a PI and moved to the next PI after the current PI has been activated, then this feature will then be marked as deferred in the current PI. This results in it being displayed as greyed out on the programme board, and displayed in the committed sprint it had in that PI.

  • A story also appears as deferred in a PI dashboard, if it was at some point planned in a sprint associated with this PI but not completed.

πŸ’‘Tip: Hover over the coloured rings to see exactly how many features are in a particular stage of progression.

The Story Progression chart displays information identically to the Feature Progression chart. The total number of stories in the selected PI are shown, with the colours representing stages of progress.

You can also choose to filter between total story points, and total story count.

πŸ’‘Tip: Hover over the coloured rings to see exactly how many stories are in a particular stage of progression.

Increment Burnup

  • The Increment Burnup chart shows us the view of progress vs scope, in Story Points or Story Count.

  • BigAgile also forecasts your progress in future Sprints based on progress in completed sprints.

  • By hovering over a particular position on the graph, the Burnup will display the metrics relevant to that chosen point.

  • For instance, in this screenshot we can see that we have completed 348 story points out of a total scope of 625.

πŸ’‘Tip: The story points you see are coming from Jira/Azure DevOps
